Ninja Forms is a free contact form plugin that gives you the option to purchase paid add-ons to extend its functionalities.
The plugin, without any add-ons, is perfect for simple contact forms, it has an easy to use drag-drop builder and it can store all user submissions, which is a real bonus.
If you want to extend the plugin’s functionalities by maybe adding the ability for users to upload files or to be able to create more complex forms or payment forms even, you can purchase single add-ons from their extensive collection to do just that. Add-ons are priced between $18 to $129 or you can also subscribe to one of their annual plans (Personal, Professional or Agency) which will give you access to add-ons, based on the plan you are on.
WPForms is another free contact form or form builder if you like. The plugin has several upgrade plans which unlock advanced features such as user submission storage, payment options, spam control, advanced fields, MailChimp integration, user registrations and so on.
The lite (free) version, which is a stripped-down version without the premium features, is a little restricted in the sense that you can only create one very basic form, but don’t let that put you off. It has a beautifully designed interface and uses a drag & drop builder, making it very very easy to build forms. Price-wise, the plugin offers four different annual plans which range from $47 to $350.
Gravity Forms is a premium advanced forms creator. The plugin has three different pricing tiers that unlock the power of advanced features such as user registrations, payment options, third-party newsletter platform integrations, conditional logic, WooCommerce integration, webhooks, user notifications, admin notification, user redirections, user registrations and so on, but the list goes on, I have only scratched the surface here.
Although it’s easy to use, its features go far beyond those of a basic contact form plugin. You can create the most complex of forms which is why it is used and respected by many of the biggest brands in the industry.

Formidable Forms is not as popular as the other contact form plugins on this list but it is not to be underestimated, it too packs a punch.
Formidable Lite is free and Formidable Pro follows a similar pricing tier as Gravity Forms and WPForms. It has four different upgrade plans ($49 to $399) which unlock different features depending on the plan you select.
With the free version, you can start out with their pre-built contact form template or create totally custom forms from scratch all with an easy-to-use drag & drop form builder interface. Sadly, just like WPForms, you can only create a simple contact form.
